Their journey started after purchasing their first monstera at a garage sale. A few years later, that single plant has turned into a home filled with over 200 rare tropical houseplants and a shared mission to make plant care simple, approachable, and fun. When Patrick first started learning about plant care, he discovered a world of confusing, conflicting advice that made him feel like he was constantly doing it wrong. So he leaned into curiosity, trial, and error, documenting what worked, what didn’t, and what those lessons revealed about patience, failure, and starting over. Today, they create educational content for plant lovers worldwide. Through humor, honesty, and a fair share of mistakes, they remind people that growth, like plant care, isn’t about perfection, it’s about learning to nurture through the messy parts.

I tend to let my interests become my personality. I started with a basil plant from the supermarket in 2021 and nearly five years later, I still can't keep a basil plant alive. In that time I've learned how to care for all kinds of plants, seen firsthand the positive effects plants have on my own mental health, landed my dream job at a gay plant store, and thrown out half a dozen basil plants. I got my first video camera in 2002 and ever since, I have spent much of my free time working on personal projects and animations. I never expected unhinged videos about gay plants to turn into political activism, but becoming a true plant person means knowing how to spot a weed. In my spare time I love going on walks through the arboretum as my partner and I take turns walking our dog and begging him to drop whatever he has in his mouth.
